Chicago Parks Foundation

In 2022 I set out to run the Chicago Marathon. At mile 12, pain shot through my feet. A past injury had been aggravated. By mile 15, my feet were the size of walruses. I slogged my way to mile 18 where the medical team would wheelchair me away. I could no longer carry my own weight. I learned a lot from my first time and I believe I am ready to succeed in 2024!

I joined Chicago Parks Foundation team because, as an avid runner, I visit many parks and I see the effort that goes into upkeeping the landscaping. Its incredible. Chicago is lucky to have such ample green space available for its parks that are some of the oldest and largest in the nation. The Chicago Park District stewards 8,500+ acres of public green space, including more than 600 parks, 230 field houses, 26 miles of Lakefront, and thousands of vital community programs.
